A day in Canberra (Part II)

Brodburger
My friend Agnes, an absolute food connoisseur, recommended a list of eateries to try when in Canberra. For burgers, she recommended this place and it was not to disappoint. It's quite a popular place on the weekends so you can order 40min ahead of time via the website to skip the queue.

I love this place so much because they have juicy patties, the best sauces, and bomb cheese selections like brie and blue cheese. Also, they have exotic patties like salmon which I didn't get to try but heard good things about.

Brod burger ($14)

That one is pictured on the right.

Ingredients: 200g flame grilled beef patty, lettuce, tomato, spanish onion, homemade aioli, tomato relish + brie cheese

This is the first time I've had a burger with brie and I love it! I'm all about the strong cheese and this one was strong and creamy, but not with that overloaded fishy aftertaste. It complimented the beef patty so well. The tomato relish and aioli balanced the taste, the patty was perfect, not too dry nor undercooked and I was well satisfied. Only thing they could work on is the bun. To me, that was soft, but just a tad dry.

Piri Piri ($15)
Ingredients: Crumbed chicken breast, Bacon, tomato, iceberg lettuce, homemade piri piri mayo

My friend Linda ordered this, and agreed it was one of the better burgers she's had. She doesn't eat bacon so I look her's. It was crispy and fatty and the sauce complimented it so well - slightly spicy and slightly tangy but not too heavy. The chicken was joooicy!

Slaw ($14.50)
Ingredients: 200g flame grilled beef, patty, bacon, coleslaw, tomato, ketchup, tomato relish + cheese (Helena picked cheddar)

Helena's had many burgers in her lifetime since she travels for work, and agreed this was one of the better ones she's had. She didn't have many words to describe this burger but the coleslaw was a "clear the conscience" of the unhealthiness apparently hehe.
