Warm hues
Do you ever get those days when you wish you owned less that so you'd have less to take care of? I'm hardly a minimalist and it seems that the makeup category is also no longer exception to that criteria anymore either. By the by, products have built up and invaded my storage spaces. How could I say no to those delicious Priceline sales?
I am planning to do something about it though, since I'm saving up for a backpacking adventure with my day one niggz in the upcoming year. I should be more careful with my money. If I do spend or give my money freely towards anything, it would probably be on a quality book, towards philanthropic causes close to my heart or joining the volleyball club again next season. When I type or write something down, I tend to follow through with it better. Yeh Cinda, keep telling yourself that!
Remember my early morning running ritual? It's been ultra sloppy since City2Surf although it was a beautiful way of bringing together a community. After all, I was doing with with my sisters in the hood and we got to catch up on each other's happenings and such. It was nice while it lasted. How do you keep a healthy body and mind?
Anyways, here are some old and new favourites I'd like to share with you:
- Lush - Bubblegum Lip Scrub - I have a bad habit for picking at the dry skin on my lips. This did the job of curbing that bad habit and tasted pretty grand.
- Essie - Nailpolish in 'Sugar Daddy' - Inconspicuous in colour, doesn't chip and good for everyday wear. The only drawback is that it's sheer.
- Essie - Apricot Cuticle Oil - It took a while to show results but my nails seem healthy again.
- Models Prefer - Brow Tint in 'Medium' - It's 2014. If your brow game's strong you can't go wrong. In saying that, don't use this product to draw yourself something synonymous with two Sharpie lines or a vendetta mask. Fill in only the sparse areas of your eyebrows with gentle brush strokes. If you have very sparse brows, I don't recommend this product. Brow powder looks more natural.
- EOS - Hand Lotion in 'Berry Blossom' - I have dry hands all year round so this non-greasy moisturiser is perfect for the spring and summer months (Thanks for the present Lydia!)
- Maybelline New York - Fit me! concealer in '10 Light' - It might sound strange that I buy concealer a shade lighter than my skin but it's mostly used for concealing eyebags during the uni examination period. It brightens my eyes and I blend my BB cream over it.
- Essence - Lash and Brow Gel Mascara in 'Clear' - Dual use for eyelashes and eyebrows. But I mainly use it to tame my eyebrows.
- L'Oreal - Nude Magique BB cream in 'Medium skin tone' - Light and covers pores well. No clumping or cracking, good blending.
- Models Prefer - Infinite Colour Eye Pencil in 'Bronze ambition' - I use this to line my lower eyelid when I do use eye makeup. It brightens things up.
- Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm Tube - I'm never without one tube or another of lip balm. This is the one that I'm currently going through.
- Revlon - PhotoReady Eye Primer + Brightener - It's good for formal events so you don't get as many of those awkward skin reflection photos.
- Rimmel London - Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Eyeliner in 'Black' - Liquid eyeliner feels smoother to apply than pencil. It's a personal preference for this one. That, and its never clumped on me.
- Cutex - Moisture Guard Nail Polish Remover Wipes - I prefer it because it saves me the trouble of finding cotton balls too.
- Maybelline - Color Sensational Bold Matte in 'Matte 7, Nude' - It's a refreshing change from the outrageous reds, purples and even oranges I've been experimenting with (thank goodness the orange was borrowed and only worn once in a dim, strobe light setting! Orange really doesn't work well with full lips and medium skin). Anyways, this was the nude colour that I blended with my deep red balm stain to for the optometry ball and the effect was good.
And that's all for now, stay beautiful inside and out!
